John E. Frame, Jr., 90, resident of Bettendorf, died Friday, May 27, 2022, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.
A memorial mass celebrating his life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Bettendorf. Private family interment will be at Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Submissions can be made to the American Cancer Society. Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home is helping the family make arrangements.
John was born May 3, 1932 in Davenport, the son of John E., Sr. and Mabel (Davis) Frame. He served his country in the United States Army from 1951 to 1954. John married Patricia Ann Wolfe on December 1, 1956 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Davenport.
John worked as a stagehand for Bendix and the Rock Island Arsenal. He was a sports enthusiast; a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan and loyal Bettendorf High School sports fan, receiving Most Loyal Fan of the Year in 1996. He enjoyed playing fastpitch softball in his early days. John enjoyed watching the activities of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed boating and bowling.
Those who remain to honor his memory include his wife, Patricia; children, Tim (Cheryl) Frame of Bettendorf and Tami (Ted) Rossow of Davenport; grandchildren, Logan (Chelsea) Frame, Lauren (Sean) Huebotter, Jake (Stephanie) Peterson and Mitchell (Andrea) Peterson; great-grandchildren, Joey Frame-Nicke, Rylee, Peyton and Eli Peterson, Brielle and Emmett Peterson; sisters, Marilyn Justus, Judith Iler and Karen Bowman.
His parents predeceased him; and her siblings, Patsy Griffin, Robert Frame and Sally Munn.
