Wheeling Ukrainian Catholic Church prays for peace
WHEELING, WV (WTRF) – A special prayer service was held in Wheeling on Sunday afternoon in support of Ukraine.
Community members gathered at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Ukrainian Catholic Church to pray for peace.
Ukrainian flags hung around the building and many members wore ribbons to show their support.
Father Jason Charron says that these people must be covered with prayers and turned to God to influence the hearts of men.
Today we have a Molieben service. Molieben is a short prayer, usually addressed to the mother of God, Mary, asking for her help and intercession.
So, of course, we pray for Ukraine and for its deliverance from war and oppression. You see the evil unfolding on people who are innocent, but at the same time you see the tidal wave of goodness and mercy that has truly enveloped an entire nation.

He says it’s important for people to be informed about what’s going on overseas and he’s seen it first hand.
