Undefeated remain top five ranked teams in CCS National Rankings – Crescent City Sports

There are no changes at the top of the Crescent City Sports Top 10 standings as we enter the ninth week of the preseason football season.

Baton Rouge Catholic, Karr, University High, St. Charles Catholic and Ouachita Christian remain the top-ranked teams.

Admittedly, in Class 2A, Lafayette Christian still looks like the team to beat but the Knights have a loss while St. Charles Catholic is undefeated with great victories over De La Salle and Newman. Many is third, Amite undefeated fourth and Loreauville undefeated until fifth. The undefeated General Trass climbs to sixth place with the undefeated Episcopal seventh. Notre Dame is up to eighth place with Newman in ninth and Avoyelles in n ° 10.

In 1A, Division IV state champion Calvary Baptist still looks like the team to beat but the Cavaliers have a loss while Ouachita Christian remains undefeated. Southern Lab is third, Ascension Catholic fourth and Opelousas Catholic fifth. St. Mary’s is now sixth and Sacré-Coeur seventh. Grand Lake is up to eighth place with Cedar Creek entering ninth and Oak Grove in tenth.

The top nine in 5A remain the same with Catholic first and Zachary second, followed by Brother Martin, Ponchaoula and Captain Shreve, all undefeated. Acadiana is sixth and Destrehan, undefeated, seventh. Ruston remains eighth and Jesuit remains ninth with Byrd moving to No.10, before a showdown with Captain Shreve on Thursday night.

Karr was awesome in his big win over rival Landry with second Neville. Warren Easton moves up to third while Huntington is now fourth and Salmen fifth. Westgate moved up to sixth place with Carver seventh. St. Thomas More, Carencro and Northwood round out the top 10 4A.

Unbeaten University High is the clear choice in 3A for first place with undefeated Sterlington second and Madison Prep third. Next undefeated ED White Catholic, Church Point and Iowa are followed by De La Salle, Lutcher, St. James and Lake Charles College Prep.
