Aliquippa – Patrick L. Mancini, 90, of Aliquippa, Pa., Moved from this life to his heavenly home on January 9, 2022. Pat was born in West Aliquippa to immigrant parents, the late Nicola and Marietta (Gargaro) Mancini, in April 2, 1931.

Pat was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, educator and musician. Pat has been married to the love of his life, Elsie Jane (Venanzi), for 56 years.

After graduating from Aliquippa High School, he attended Duquesne University where he studied music and participated in the University’s ROTC program. After graduation, Pat served his country as a first lieutenant and squadron warrant officer in the US Air Force. After leaving the service, Pat turned her attention to her first love, music. The trumpet was his instrument of choice, but he continued to teach the basics of instrumental music to countless students as head of the music department and director of the Monaca High School orchestra for twenty years while performing. personally with the MPI Band.

Always in pursuit of education and self-improvement, Pat obtained a Masters of Education from Duquesne University and his Superintendent’s Certificate from Youngstown State University. He then became Deputy Principal and then Superintendent of the Sto-Rox School District, while simultaneously serving on the Aliquippa School Board.

Not wanting to give up his love of music, Pat led the Beaver County Symphonic Wind Ensemble for 18 years and entertained audiences with free outdoor concerts at Quay Park in Beaver and the Penn State Cultural Center. Pat was inducted into the Beaver Valley Musicians Hall of Fame in 1991, where he gratefully told audiences he had “lived the American dream.” Pat retired from education in 1991 to spend more time with family and friends. He loved fishing and family reunions.

Of all his successes in life, Pat was the proudest of his family and especially of his three daughters; Lisa Renee Maravich from Center Township, PA, Dara Lynn Henne from Fox Chapel, PA, and Karen Marie Mancini-Broadwater from Aspinwall, PA. He was always looking for an excuse to talk to whoever wanted to hear it. Pat is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Elsie; her sister, Betty (Cornell) Bernola; his sister-in-law, Nancy (Albert, deceased) Mignanelli; her children, Lisa (Robert) Maravich, Dara (John) Henne, Karen (Kent) Mancini-Broadwater; her grandchildren, Taylor Renee Maravich (Julian) Critchfield, Sean Patrick Maravich, Jack Venanzi Henne, Luke Mancini Henne, Mark Paolo Henne, Clark Francesco Henne; his great-granddaughter whom he nicknamed “Special”, Ella Renee Maravich; and his nephews Dean (Susan) Bernola of Hopewell Township, Gregory (Laura) Holden of Arizona and Mark (Virgie) Holden of California.

Visitations will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at TATALOVICH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 2205 McMinn St., Aliquippa, PA, 15001, on Thursday, January 13, 2022.

Family and friends will gather on Friday, January 14, 2022 at 12:30 p.m. to celebrate a Christian burial mass at Saint Titus Catholic Church, 952 Franklin Ave, Aliquippa, where Pat has faithfully served the Lord and his parish as bailiff for 60 years. year. The Very Reverend Joseph M. Mele will officiate. Private interment will follow at the Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum in Hopewell Township.
