Eleanor A. (nÃ©e Hudak) IrmiÃ¨re was welcomed into the arms of Our Mother Mary on Thursday, January 6, 2022. She was 89 years old and was enthusiastically planning the celebration of her 90th birthday at the time of her death. Born in Jersey City, Eleanor had resided in Wayne since 1960. She was a registered nurse at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Paterson where she met and married the love of her life, Dr. Victor J. IrmiÃ¨re. They experienced 55 years of marital bliss before Victor passed away in 2016. Eleanor attended Sacred Heart Academy High School in Hoboken, where she graduated in 1949. She graduated from associate in nursing in 1952 at Saint Joseph’s School of Nursing, Paterson. From Seton Hall University in 1959, she earned her BS in Nursing, while working in pediatrics and navigating the multiple buses and trains from Jersey City to South Orange. Eleanor was a clinical pediatric instructor at Saint Joseph’s Hospital. She was a volunteer school nurse at DePaul High School in Wayne. At Wayne General Hospital, now known as Saint Joseph’s Wayne Hospital, she was an operating examination nurse, skillfully combining her nursing knowledge with her keen sense of order and purpose. She was the nurse in Dr.Anthony DiBiase’s office for four years before retiring in 2001. As president and auxiliary member of Saint Joseph’s Wayne Hospital, she helped raise several thousand dollars for the hospital. ‘hospital. Between her nursing career, Eleanor raised six children: Alice Marcy, Claudia IrmiÃ¨re, Andrew IrmiÃ¨re, Dorothy Levorse, Victoria Randazzo and Maria Parry. Pets (mostly cats), nephews, nieces, Fresh Air Fund guests and friends were welcomed into her home while she looked after her parents Andrew and Anna (Swedish) Hudak. A prolific and gifted knitter and crocheter, Eleanor established the prayer shawl ministry at Our Lady of Consolation RC Church in Wayne, where she was a founding member and parishioner. She has also been an active Eucharistic minister, reader, CCD teacher and Cornerstone retreat facilitator. Eleanor is survived by her six children, their spouses and partners, her brother Eugene Hudak, eleven grandchildren, a great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Victor, her parents Andrew and Anna, her sister Dorothy (Hudak) Lloyd, her brother Andrew J. Hudak, her brother-in-law William Lloyd, her sister-in-law Adele (Ferrador) Hudak and her sister in law. -law Patricia (Danowski) Hudak, who are now planning the sparkling celebration of her 90th birthday. Visitations will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Our Lady of Consolation RC Church, 1799 Hamburg Turnpike, Wayne, New Jersey. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday January 14, 2022 at the Our Lady of Consolation RC Church.
