93 year old Muriel M. Golden (nee Reeves), beloved wife of 43 years of the late Phillip A .; beloved daughter of the late Jean Benedetti Reeves, Floyd H. Kammer, and stepfather Charles W. Reeves; stepmother of Patrick Golden (wife Kathy); dearest cousin of Anita, Melinda, Lisa and Mark Benedetti, and several others. Muriel was born on May 6, 1928 in Scranton, PA and passed away peacefully on September 20, 2021 in Middlefield, OH. She had resided in Chardon since 1971 and previously resided in Cleveland Heights, South Euclid and California. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Chardon. Muriel graduated in 1942 from Christ the King School in East Cleveland and graduated in 1946 from the Ursuline Sacred Heart Academy. She attended the University of California, Santa Barbara and earned an associate’s degree from Los Angeles Valley Jr. College. She also attended night school at Fenn State and Kent State Extensions. She worked as secretary to the sales manager for WGAR 1220 AM radio for fifteen years. Muriel was a breeder of champion Papillon dogs and was a member of the Grand River Kennel Club. Muriel did not have children or siblings, but she did have a lot of friends. Some of his friendships lasted his entire life, most notably with the late Patricia Derrig Bellis and Janet Hough Gorsline. Muriel will be remembered for her love of dancing, sports, especially ice skating, downhill skiing and sailing which she loved with her husband Phil. She also loved Papillon dogs, cats and all of God’s creatures. Muriel loved crafts and volunteering. She volunteered for five years at Heather Hill in the Special Care Center. She was known for her sense of humor and smiley face. Christian Funeral Mass Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 401 North Street, Chardon, at 11:30 a.m. Next interment at All Souls Cemetery.
