COLUMBIANA – Marsha J. Baker, 79, died on November 26, 2021 at the Salem Regional Medical Center after a long illness.

Marsha was born on May 11, 1942 in East Palestine, Ohio, daughter of the late Ernest Ross and Mary Suigo Ross.

She had long resided in Eastern Palestine before moving to Columbiana in her later years. Marsha was a member of the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Eastern Palestine, where she served as President of the Ladies Aide Society and served on many other committees.

Prior to retiring, Marsha worked as a personnel secretary for JC Penney Co for several years. She loved to play cards and was a member of several card clubs. Marsha loved to travel with her husband, going to the Mountaineer, but was known to be a dedicated mother and grandmother.

Marsha is survived by her husband of 37 years, Gerald Baker; son, Tom (Elizabeth) Minamyer of Flushing, Ohio; daughter, Laura (Rick) Beight of Eastern Palestine; stepson, Dr. Scott (Dr. Alicia) Baker of Hermitage, Pennsylvania; brother, Ernest Ross of Eastern Palestine; two sisters, Norma Price from Eastern Palestine, Theresa (Bill) Thompson from Eastern Palestine; six grandchildren, Alyssa (Matt) Weaver, Ryan Henderson, Olivia Minamyer, Joshua, Max and Luke Baker as well as two great grandchildren, Matthew and Colten Weaver.

Marsha was predeceased by her sister, Carol Rauch.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Linsley-Royal funeral home in eastern Palestine. A funeral mass will be held Friday at 11:00 am at the Notre-Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church. A private burial will follow at a later date.
