Margaret Anthony Obituary (1940 – 2021) – Slatington, Pennsylvania
Peggy’s local fame was as the leader of Senior Scout Troop 159 with members in Slatington, Slatedale and New Tripoli. Under her leadership, the girls raised funds to offset half the cost of a two-week tour of England, Scotland and Ireland in 1969. Peggy’s ambition was to show them what was possible and they did. We thank you ! Peggy loved these girls as hers and they’ve given her that respect over the years.
Peggy is predeceased by her parents, sister Carol Ann Musto, son Peter Michael Anthony, niece Lisa Snyder, first husband William Earl Anthony, and closest friend and companion, Gail Haldeman. Peggy is survived by husband Carl Bauer, sisters Mary Kathlyn Garrison and Star Lakavage (husband Michael Shelby Walker) and niece Sheilah Michaels (husband Michael McCord). We would like to thank the very kind and knowledgeable staff at Fellowship Manor and a special thank you to his Furnace Road family for all their friendship, kindness, help and attention over the years.
A funeral Mass will be held at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 649 W Washington St, Slatington at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday October 20, 2021, with interment in Slatedale Cemetery. Please, at Peggy’s request, no flowers but make good use of these thoughts by sending a donation to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Arrangements are in the hands of Harding Funeral Home, Slatington, www.hardingfuneralhomeinc.com
