Grand Rapids Church Hosts Rally for Ukraine

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A Ukrainian church in Grand Rapids is holding a peaceful rally in support of Ukraine scheduled for Thursday.

The Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church of St. Michael the Archangel has published a announcement on his Facebook page about a peaceful protest they are organizing to show their support for Ukraine. According to the post, the rally will take place from 5-7 p.m. at Ah-Nab-Awen Park near the Gerald R. Ford Museum.

The message encourages people to come out dressed in blue and yellow – the colors of Ukraine – to sing, listen and pray for peace in the country.

The announcement comes a week after Russia attacked Ukraine, and as the number of refugees tops one million as citizens flee the country.
