Follow Jesus in Faith | Characteristics

“A brother will betray his brother to death, a father will betray his own child, and children will rebel against their parents and have them killed. And all the nations will hate you because you are my disciples. But all who endure to the end will be saved. Matthew 10: 21-22

How did we get here? Chaos at the speed of the information highway. Bow your head in prayer for one thing, lift your head to find two new things for the prayer list.

And we’re so divided, almost everything a Shakespearean comedy, or maybe a tragedy, “To hide or not to hide, that is the question?”

Most will agree, whatever our political affiliation, we are no longer united as a country. Red, white and blue have been replaced with red states and blue states, with some purple.

Worse, in the 20 years since 9/11, our government has used our “security” as an excuse to wrest one freedom after another, until the church can finally become nonessential. Remember, FEAR does not come from God.

Did you know that there are people in the world who are praying that the American Church will wake up and assume its place of leader and defend our religious freedoms and our personal freedoms? They recognize that we are the last bastion of freedom in the world.

It will be hard never to forget the desperate Afghan civilians running alongside the US Air Force C-17 transport rolling down the Kabul runway, hoping to take a ride in the massive plane, all trying to ‘escape the Taliban.

This dramatic and incredible scene painfully reminded me of those who jumped to death from the Twin Towers 20 years ago. It breaks my heart to see that something that said “good” sounds so bad. When do we leave people behind?

Ismael Moyoto, CEO of the Christian Brigades, describing the martyrdom of families in the underground church in Kabul, Afghanistan, moments after the Taliban took control of the capital.

These are the last words spoken by a church member over the phone: “We feel your prayers because this supernatural daring has come over us and we are singing in the Spirit, even the children told mom that we will not deny Jesus.” “

While still on the phone, they heard screams and gunshots.

My brothers and sisters in Christ, they are in the arms of Jesus.

The Bible tells us not to fear the man who can kill the body …

Some Christian media see the American departure from the Middle East as a void filled by the prophecy of Ezekiel 38. Israel, a people surrounded on all sides, watches the tumultuous exodus from the United States and wonders if America will respond when will the shofar ring?

“We are pressed on all sides by unrest, but we are not crushed. We are puzzled, but not desperate. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We are overthrown, but we are not destroyed. Through suffering, our bodies continue to participate in the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus is also seen in our bodies. Yes, we live in constant danger of death because we serve Jesus, so that the life of Jesus will be evident in our dying bodies. So we live in the face of death, but it gave you eternal life. »2 Corinthians 4: 8-12 (NLT)

The devil knows his days are numbered; the clock is turning. He is coming for us, yes, us. We must watch over our hearts! Now is not the time for us to put anything before our Savior Jesus Christ.

We are not to bow down to anything other than our Lord. We must trade our religious rituals for a revival, our tolerance of sin for His righteous anger! We should be saddened by sin, our country living like Sodom and Gomorrah, calling good bad and evil good.

One thing the Taliban did not expect is that desperation draws people to God. Did you know that Iran is the fastest growing church in the world? It seems that the Islamic government is creating the perfect ground for a growing Church. So how do you help these people?

Individually, we should ask God to examine our hearts and open our eyes to unconfessed sin.

As a nation, we should pray against the demonic influence on our country to be stopped, slaughtered and thrown into the pit of fire! Pray that the American Church will stand up, speak out, leave the sideline, and step into the game.

We must allow the Holy Spirit to work with us and enter into our God-given purpose.

We must pray to God for the protection of those in Afghanistan, especially its people in danger. We must pray for discernment for the brothers and sisters of this land “hostile to the Christian”.

We must pray that these Christians will have at least one person each day to join communion. We must pray for safe passage for Americans and those who wish to leave the country. We must pray that these Afghan Muslims will meet Jesus Christ and turn away from their violent ways.

If not now when? If not us, who?

As for me and my house, we follow Jesus forward in faith!
