Bible Mission Gooty Church of India becomes largest church in the world


Bible Mission Gooty Church founded and established on January 31, 1938 in the Anantpur district of Andhra Pradesh has been recognized as the largest church in the world by the World Book of Records – London. The presentation of the certificate to Rev. B. Adbutha Kumar was made by Dr Rajiv Srivastav (Vice President, WBR – India) and Dr Ullaji Eliyazar (Joint Secretary WBR – South India Region).

Along with 30 other members and Pastor Rev.B Adbutha Kumar, the ministry of the church was formed on June 26, 1992. Currently, the church has 114 branches spread across the states of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Acting as the emblem of faith, love and harmony, the church is home to a number of people around the world.

Located in the serene part of Gooty Anantpur District, Andhra Pradesh, the church is built on 61 acres of vast land with a capacity of 60,000 people. At 225 pillars and 14 feet tall, the majestic church is built with a modern twist that consists of facilities like a prayer tower, Bible college, mega kitchen, water tanks, and compound walls. By the grace of the gods, the church has been blessed with a number of devotees who participate in a number of evangelical meetings and feasts of love. Each month, nearly 50,000 students also participate in church prayers.

Apart from this, the church also held a number of free weddings for the economically poor and offered rice, vegetables and food during the covid -19 period. Associated with the number of social works, the church also aims for the upliftment of people. Without any foreign help or donation, the church was built with the help of a number of worshipers from various districts of Andhra Pradesh who were involved in the completion of this program.

Listed in the World Book of Records as the largest church in the world, the Mission Gooty Church Bible has brought immense pride and honor to the people of Andhra Pradesh and India.
